Yesterday morning when the boys and I got up I mentioned to them that we were going shopping. I got the usual uhhhh nooooooooo. I am trying to hold in my laughter. In a house full of testosterone there are few girlie things that I actually have the pleasure of dragging them along with me for. They would die if they had to go to a salon....thats right if it aint a barber shop, they will not enter. Thats all ok with me. It just drives me nuts that my men have an aversion for shopping unless it has something to do with electronics. Yesterday was payback. After complaining for a min and syaing nooooooo about 15 times they finally asked where we would be going shopping. I calmly informed them that we would be going shopping in the basement. I almost busted out laughing at the look on their faces. Wheres that camera when you need it? After scraping their chins off the floors the decided that it had to be better than going to SAM'S or Caputos. Little did they know...
You see there are still boxes in the basement from when we moved here a year ago. Not a whole lot but not a whole little either. I purchased 15 plastic bins. Not huge ones but ones that I know I can easily carry myself incase Donte's not here. What doesn't fit in those boxes gets put into one of three piles....toss, donate/give to people I know that would like it, or yard sale. Don't worry I didn't slave drive them all day just for 90 min. I figure 90 minutes a day and we should have it done in 4 sessions tops. This gives us a set time to get it done.
However when I went downstairs I was armed with my fly swater and vacuum. There are enough spiders down there to start an exhibit in a science museum. I spent the first 15 minutes franticlly vacuuming spider webs up. We literally never go in the basement. The boys found all of this very funny. They thought that the two frogs outside the basement window was funny too. They named them Bart and Stewie. I am a girl I DO NOT LIKE THAT CRAP. ahhhh welll whatdayagonnado?
I sectioned the basement off into quadrants and we went to work. I am happy to say that we got one of the quadrants entirely done. The boys found a few of their boxes with some old treasures in them and had a blast going through and adding to their piles. They even got the snoopy snowcone maker that Adam sent me out an attempted to make the snowcones. Ahhhhh to be a kid again. We will resume out shopping sesion on Monday. On a side note I dont think they will complain about going grocery shopping for a while.
On to football. Yesterday was equipment pickup day for he boys. We trudged out to four seasons park and got into the line that wrapped around the tents and waited. Now I am sitting here filling stuff out and the boys even have to sign a contract stating that they understand that they will have to behave...tsk tsk. TESTOSTERONE......enough said. So we get to the weigh station they check the boys again for their weights and make sure that they are put into the right categories. Daniel is a Bantam and Donte is a Featherweight. They then proceeded to go through the line and get all kinds of pads, crotch protectors, mouth guards, and the huge shoulder pads. They were both grinning liking cheshire cats as was Big Donte. I on the other hand could have passed out. these are my babies and I dont want them to get hurt!!!! I couldn't say that as a Mom you have to let your kids experiance life and at least try the things that they would like to. I would rather have two golf players. Alas I am outnembered...that damn testosterone thing!!! I know that they will do great and for big Donte, I know that this has been a dream of his for awhile. He did wait for the boys to bring it up to him before we signed them up but let me tell you the word football came out of their mouths and he jumped into action....GOD please help me o get through this. Another side note. I picked up a box of hair dye yesterday and am going to call Gina on Monday. I know the gray is going to be coming with a vengance. For all of you who were trying to be sweet and told me that it wasn't that bad.......pahhhhhhleeeeeease it's not good. I love you all for trying :0)
As for me today I am going shopping in my craft room. I need to get that straightened out and it's the perfect morning to do it. Donte had to run into work for a few hours, they boys are busy playing games, the gardeners are here so we have to stay in for a couple of hours anyway. This afternoon we will be going to buy Cleets and Helmets. DAMN there popped up another gray hair.....

Winston Henry
Winston Henry is the dog that my parents rescued. Remember this. Well now he looks like this.

He actually reminds me a lot of Buster. No dog could ever replace him but this little fart sure does look a lot like him.

Babies
I have recently been reading the blog of friend.......I don't even know the words to start this post. But I will post about it. It is important. I just fall into ones of those that doesn't know what to say.
Kym and Frank have 4 beautiful children. Two boys and two girls. They however did not have the easiest road to get their 4. They had to endure heartache. Getting preggers was the challange for them, and as they were going through those challenges her sister became pregnant and so did her dog! I wouldn't have known what to say to them at that time, heck I don't know what to say to them now about what they went through. I often wonder why bad things happen to good people. I would have rather them not have to go through what they did but then they may not have gone to do this.
The point I am trying to get too is that Kym is now a Surrogate Mom. The pure unselfishness and love that she shows is amazing. Frank, who I have always known to be commpassionate and understanding is right there with her supporting not only her but the other couples as well. What a blessing to have these two people in this world. To take something so heartwrenching and turn it completely around to give hope to others.
I thank God for my two little men. Donte Jr. who decided to come out two weeks late, and Daniel
who made his grand entrance on the exact date that he was due.

A Little Bit of The South
As a rule I rarely fry in the house. French Fries are baked and chicken is baked or broiled, but today I just had the need to make some good old fashioned fried chicken. I got the chicken, soaked it for a few hours, breaded it up, and now we are getting ready to eat a little piece of golden fried heaven. I absolutely love soul food but it's always so bad and I find myself having to work out twice as much.....but tonight we will have fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and a veggie medley. Tomorrow morning I will be cussing up a storm as I run and do the elliptical.

As an added note the new camera is great. More on that later.

Mining for Gold
Wow what a fun little town we got to go to. We had a blast to say the least. We were there all day, perfect weather and all. The boys got to pose for an old timy pic, use the slingshot, shoot at bottles, ride horses, mine for gold, take a train ride, ride in a canoe, get thrown in jail, sing to get out of jail, and they even got to enjoy a good old fashioned root beer float. The weather was perfect, excepting a little bit of rain, the breeze was blowing and the sun didn't melt us. Here are a few of the pictures from yesterday.

The Wild, Wild West
Tomorrow the boys and I are off to Donleys Wild West Town. God help me their gonna be shootin' the guns and diggin' for gold. I think they can even ride a horse.....I hope Mr. Ed's there he was a fav of mine when I was a kid.
Hello, I'm Mister Ed
A horse is a horse, of course of course,
and no one can talk to a horse of course,
that is of course, unless the horse,
Is the famous Mister Ed!
Go right to the source and ask the horse.
He'll give you the answer that you'll endorse.
He's always on a steady course.
Talk to Mister Ed.
People yak-it-ti-yak a streak
and waste your time of day,
but Mister Ed will never speak,
unless he has something to say...
A horse is a horse, of course of course,
And this one will talk 'til his voice is hoarse.
You never heard of a talking horse?
Well, listen to this...
I am Mister Ed
:0) Tell ya'll all 'bout it t'morrow.

Cannon Rebel XSI

I also picked up this nifty zoom lens.

I have always loved taking pictures and have spent the last few years learning tons about them. I have always shown caution and stuck with the regular digital cameras. The SLR's have always looked so great but they have scared the crap out of me. I mean I can't just point and shoot, I have to know the settings and what to do with them. Well this past weekend m hubby had to get a new laptop so we headed to our fav electronic store. We decided that the laptop could be an early anniversary present. After talking we decided that a new camera could be mine...but only if it was the SLR so I am now the proud owner of a Canon Rebel XSI. I wish I would have taken the plunge earlier...don't get me wrong I still have a lot to learn and will be looking into taking some classes....but I love it. I love controlling the shot and adjusting all the different aspects of the picture.
Here's a few pictures that I have taken.
Here's those curtains I was talking about.
This is one of the rings that I picked up in Sri Lanka last year. I also have earrings and a pendant to match. I love it.
Here are the doggies.
Here's the teddy bear that Donte sent me while he was at school this past January.

Memories
Today I got to talk to a dear old friend of mine. In high school I became friends with a great guy named Frank. We were in band together (spare me the jokes) and became as close as friends could be with none of that get together stuff involved, We were friends just pure and simple friends. I could talk to him about anything. He knew my good, my bad, and my ugly and still loved me in spite of it all. I lost contact with Frank about 8 years ago. Not because of any ill will or drama but life just happened and contact slowly drifted away. There were many times that I would wonder about him and his family but never made the conscious effort to contact him. About a week ago I got a MySpace comment from his wife. It was a GREAT surprise to say the least....today I got to talk to them both. Can I tell you that I was tickled pink to know how happy they are together and that they have four perfect little children. He always did deserve the best and I am glad that he got it.
It's funny how memories coming flooding back after talking with someone.....memories that have been laying dormant in the back of my head for 8 years just waiting to pop back up. So Frank here's to you on your 33rd birthday. I remember how I would come by your house to pick you up and you would take FOREVER ironing your clothes. You always had the best cologne on. You were a smell good freak. You always knew how to listen and gave the best advice....I know I didn't always take it but I did cherish it. I remember giving you advice too and you definitely helped me to see a guys point of view when I was being a total girl. Remember the cheap soda. I can't believe you remembered that competition in "P". Remember driving in my old car and jamming to the likes of Shai and Dr. Dre and Snoop, and who could forget Boys to Men. Thanks for being the best guy friend that I could have had back then. For being you and never making anything awkward. You truly are the greatest. You can always tell a great life long friend when you haven't talked for years and when you finally do it seems like it was yesterday that you last hung out with them.
Happy 33rd my friend.....man your old :0)

80. From the day I knew that Donnie was a boy I wanted to name him Jr. My husband said he didn't want him to be a Jr., he wanted him to have his own identity. I still really wanted a Jr. After Donnie was born I looked at Donte and said that we needed to give him a name. One look at his new born son and Jr. it was.
81. I wanted to name Dannie Max. Donte reminded me that my Moms cat was named Max. We named him Daniel. When Dannie turned two he loved the Goofy Movie. He announced that his name was Max....call him Max. Hmmmmmm makes me wonder.
82. I love the scene in Notting Hill when she says "I'm just a girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her" .....told you I am a sap.
83. I was in love with Tom Cruise when I was a kid.
84. I know the words to every song in Grease....when I feel like driving my husband nuts I sing them to him. "Your the one that I want".
85. I love peach Sangria. I once drank a whole pitcher of it by myself. For some reason I thought that everything was funny that night.
86. I once shot a flare out of a gadget that looked like a pen....it scared the crap outta me....but it was fun.
87. I have enough Polish Pottery to open my own store. Yes I went to Poland with my girlfriends to get it.
88. I miss my good friends so much it hurts at times.
89. I can be a little blunt. Some know how to take it some don't...I'm trying to be better about that.
90. My favorite sayings are "Whatever" and "Get over it".....did I mention that I could be blunt.
91. I love Twix bars.
92. When we lived in Germany I would go to the salon every two weeks for a mani, pedi, and facial. When we came back to the states that changed to once every six months....have I said that I miss Germany?
93. 93 is the year that I graduated from high school. What a great year that was. I have so many great memories. Wild and free class of '93.
94. Sometimes I forget my own age and have to count.
95. I have gray hair, not a whole bunch but with my dark hair they really jump out. I usually dye my hair but haven't in about 6 months. I think I like my gray....after all I have earned them.

97. 97 is the year that my 1st son was born. I cant begin to explain my feelings when I first saw him. It was like looking into my own eyes. My heart was bursting with amazement, love, and awe.
98. I love sour Gummi Bears.
99. 99 is the year that my baby was born. My family was complete. How cute was Dannie with his chunky little self. I love to watch my two boys. Two perfect little farts that they are.
100. I will never do anything like this again. Really 100......I am using way too much brain power!
Happy Fourth of July
We are having a blast together hanging out at home. Donte had to run to do colorguard for the country club but will be home in a few hours. We will then be grillin' and eatin' outside on this gorgeous day. I hope you all have great day!

Thermal Backed Curtains
As most of you know our house here has 1876567424951 windows. At first, as the snow, it was great. Now that a year has gone by I wish that there were less. Here's a picture of the family room. You can kinda see how the sun comes in....well imagine those top two windows when the sun is really beaming in. On top of blinding us in the living room they are across from the upstairs balcony that opens up right into the master suite. There's nothing like being woken up at the crack of dawn because the sun is burning a hole in your head.

Late last week I stumbled upon some thermal back curtains and that's all it took for me to start thinking of how many I needed to purchase. Yesterday after swimming we headed to the store where I picked up some of those lovely curtains and some new curtain rods. Donte and I put the ones in the living room up last night.......drum roll please.........They work they really work. WOOOOO HOOOO. I didn't wake up because of the bright sun. I woke up because it was time to get up.....and I didn't have the sun hitting me in the face. I got them for Donnies, Daniels, and the master suite too. I will have to go back today to get them for the craft room as well. The best part is that they are inexpensive....roughly $10 a panel.

The Ring of Death
My dear husband is the proud owner of a XBOX 360. He has had it for sometime.....and dare I say he has cherished every moment with it. The other morning dh came downstairs early for a friendly rendezvous with said XBOX and he received the most unpleasant surprise.......The Ring of Death. Mortified doesn't come close to the expression on his face......devestated...nope uh uh it was worse. I guess you could call it mortifstated. He was quick to get on the phone and call XBOX to see if he could find a way to get this problem fixed. I took a deep breath for him because I have never had an easy fix with an 800 number before. Donte spoke to one of the best reps ever who said all he needed to do was send it back in......in the box that they would send him. No shipping, no postage costs for us...no sirree. They would not only fix it......if they couldn't fix it they would send him a new one!!! I was floored! Note to self....always let DH deal with these situations from now on. Well since last Thursday he has asked EVERY day "Has the box come yet?". Yes a little bit obsessive are we. Well today his pretty little box came in. I have dutifully placed said XBOX into the box with the padding and all the precautions, Sealed it, and placed the mailing label on it. Now I must gather the kids and go hunt out our nearest UPS facility so that in 3 to 6 weeks my husband can have his XBOX back. **sigh**

Lightning Bugs
When I was a kid my Grandparents lived in Pennsylvania. I remember many a summer night chasing lightning bugs with my little brother and cousins. I remember how the air felt, the softness of the grass, and the pure magic that a bug that can glow in the dark would bring to me.
I don't think that I ever saw one in North Carolina but there are tons here. Last night, with plastic jars instead of glass, all four of us went outside to catch some lightning bugs. The boys were running around like crazy trying to catch them. Donte couldn't help himself he too had to get out there.
Sometimes I wonder how it would be if there were no digital cable, Wii, DS's, and PSP's. How carefree and wonderful it must have been to deem lightning bug catching as evening entertainment. Don't get me wrong I love all the new technology that we have today. It's just that seeing the boys so gleefully happy chasing bugs was wonderful. I want them to have the experiences that we had as kids, a little bit of the carfreeness, I want them to enjoy being a kid.

I Couldn't Resist
I just had to post this. Please excuse all the foul language but that's how it came. When it first snowed here I was so excited about it. We all went out and played in it.....let's just say it got old fast. In the end I was like screw the shovel I'm driving over it....that's why God made minivans right? Anyway enjoy...
A Southerner Moves North
Jan.10 5:00 P.M. It's starting to snow. The first of the season and the first one we've seen in years.
The wife and I took our hot buttered
rum and sat by the picture window, watching the soft flakes drift down, clinging to the trees and covering the ground.
It was beautiful!
Jan. 11 We awoke to a lovely blanket of crystal white snow covering the landscape. What a fantastic sight.
Every tree and shrub covered
with a beautiful white mantle. I shoveled snow for the first time ever and loved it. I did both our driveway and our sidewalk. Later a city snowplow came along and accidently covered up our driveway with compacted snow from the street. The driver smiled and waved.
I waved
back and shoveled it again.
Jan. 12 It snowed an additional 5 inches last night, and the temperature has dropped to around 11 degrees. Several limbs on the trees and shrubs snapped due to the weight of the snow. I shoveled our driveway again. Shortly afterwards, the snowplow came by and did his trick again. Much of the snow is now brownish-gray.
Jan. 13 Warmed up enough during the day to create some slush which soon became ice when the temperature dropped again. Bought snow tires for both cars. Fell on my ass in the driveway. $145 to a chiropractor, but nothing was broken. More snow and ice expected.
Jan. 14 Still cold. Sold the wife's car and bought a 4x4 in order to get her to work. Slid into a guardrail anyway and did a considerable amount of damage to the right rear quarter-panel. Had another 8 inches of the white shit last night. Both vehicles covered in salt and crud. More shoveling in store for me today. That goddamn snowplow came by twice today.
Jan. 15 2 degrees outside. More fuckin' snow. Not a tree or shrub on our property that hasn't been damaged. Power was off most of the night. Tried to keep from freezing to death with candles and a kerosene heater, which tipped over and nearly burned the house down. I managed to put the flames out, but suffered second degree burns on my hands and lost all my eyelashes and eyebrows. Car slid on ice on way to emergency room and was totalled.
Jan.16 Goddamn mother fuckin' white shit keeps on coming down. Have to put on all the clothes we own just to get to the fuckin' mailbox. If I ever catch the son-of-a-bitch that drives the snowplow, I'll chew open his chest and rip out his heart. I think he hides around the corner and waits for me to open our driveway again! Power still off. Toilet froze and part of the roof has started to cave in.
Jan.17 Six goddamn more fuckin' inches of fuckin' snow and fuckin' sleet and fuckin' ice and God knows what other kind of white fuckin' shit fell last night. I wounded the fuckin' snowplow asshole with an ice axe, but he got away. Car won't start. I think I'm going snow blind. I can't move my toes. I haven't seen the sun in weeks. More snow predicted. Wind chill -22 fuckin' degrees.
I'm moving back to North Carolina!

Rainy Days
I woke up today to the sound of rain beating on my window. Of course this meant that Soccer camp would be cancelled. I immediately went to the computer and checked the website. Luckily for me it was just delayed until 10. Wooo Hooo!! Donte woke the boys up early and gave them their crazy hair. One was shaved on the bottom the other on top. It was lovely I tell ya. since it's such a rainy day I think I am going to do some scrap booking. I have been slacking in that department so the rain keeping us in is the perfect opportunity.
Daniel

Donnie was so busy eating ribs that he acted like it was a bother for me to get this pic......but I am more than ready to cut the extra off so poor baby had to suck it up.

The Joys of Being a Recruiters Wife
Going to bed at 10:33.....Alone.
Having husband do paperwork until his index finger just turns into a pen....saves time for the important crap.
Going to a mandatory FRG meeting.....ummm I will keep my mouth shut.
Setting the filled dinner plate in the microwave for the love of my life.....so he can just hit start when he comes in half asleep.
Having him home everynight....PRICELESS.
I am trying here folks.....I swear I am.

Winston
Here is Winston before.

As I told you guys before my parents rescued a puppy a few weeks ago. they named him Winston Henry and he is adorable!!! Here is a before and an after picture. It's amazing what a little bit of food, medicine, and a whole bunch of love can do.
It really pissed me off that anyone can let a puppy get like he was. I think that people who treat animals like that should have the same treatment. Mean maybe but hey I am being honest.
The lovable Winston after.

SIFE
The boys started their soccer camp today. It runs for three days, 9AM-1PM and is about a 30 min drive away. I was apprehensive at first but the longer I stayed the more I liked it and the more the boys liked it. The camp is about 30 minutes away so I decided to bring a book and find a shady spot to sit and read. How great was that...I had 4 uninterrupted hours to sit in the shade while the wind blew every so gently as I read and read and read. It was total bliss. Back to the camp. There were about 300 kids and a mass of teenage counselors. Don't worry there were plenty of adults as well. They had a ton of fields set up and the literally played game after game that dealt with soccer for the 4 hours. The fed the kids pizza and hot dogs. There was plenty of drinks and they even had a water tent set up. They rigged hoses in the top of a tent so the kids could get good and misted on their breaks before heading back to the fields to play. Tomorrow is crazy hair day so we will see what we come up with. They also received their T-Shirts that they will wear for the next two days. Did I mention too that this camp is 100% free for all attendees. They get donations and they have the time of their lives. I am so happy that the boys are getting a chance to be a part of it all. They played, and played, and played, and I read, and read, and read. This was a total win, win situation. WOOOOOHOOOO. I can't wait for tomorrow morning.
After we got home the boys ran up to shower and then we played rock band. Can I tell you that this game is great. Whoever thought of the Wii sure did hit the nail on the head. Right now they are outside playing football with some neighbors and I am waiting for the roast to finish. I have a feeling that bedtime is going to come super early tonight.

It's Official......
.....I have been bitten by the lazy bug. Now my laundry is done and the floors are swept......but if it's not going to the pool or summer time fun....I DON"T wanna do it. The BBQ is getting a great workout as are the Dogs, the bikes, the sidewalk chalk, I am sure you get the picture. What's a girl to do? I even found myself singing along to Rock Band today while the boys were playing....whats the song you ask? uuuuuuummmmmm......wanted.......dead or alive.....I got a 98% wooohooo. Not bad considering it's the only song I know on the blasted thing.
Tomorrow is Monday and I swear I am getting out of bed and fully dressed by 730!!! I have to...ok I'm clicking my heels together and with my eyes closed I am saying "I think I can"! Wish me luck.

FINALLY
For weeks now I have been trying to get the Wii Fit. Every weekend when we go about our business of shopping and running errands we have been popping in and out of stores innocently asking "Do you have any Wii Fits available"? We are always answered with a no and a look of....hey lady do you see any on the shelf. I politely smile and say thanks you. In the back of my head I am saying you jerk check the back. Well after week upon week I had given up on searching. I decided last Sunday on Fathers Day that I wasn't looking anymore and that when it was no longer a hot item I would find one. Now I decided this as a hail storm was starting and here we are in the middle of gamestop. I am seriously thinking that I don't want the last moments of my life to be in a video game store. They say hail comes with a twister and man it was pitch black and the hail sounded like baseballs hitting the glass of the store. I decided to preorder rock band for the boys. What the heck I knew that if I didn't it would be a Wii Fit situation. Yesterday as Donnie and I are about to start a game on the Wii I decide to call gamestop to make sure I had the pick up day for Rock band right and I casually ask about Wii Fit and the guys says "uh Yeah we got it" OMG Donnie and I jump in the car and race to the store. It took literally 5 min bt we got the very last one!!! WooHoo!! Can I say that I love it and the fact that I actually broke a sweat was great. Donte and I have been doing 2 miles in the morning but this was great. I did some Yoga and I love it. I had never really done yoga before and can I say that my stomach muscles were more than a little sore. Bulls eye I cant wait to keep it going.

I Love The Summer
Now that the snot is all gone. I am having a blast with the boys on these long summer days. In fact I am sitting in the shade watching the boys and two of their friends playing baseball in the front yard. The breeze is blowing and the sun is shining. I have a tall glass of sweet tea and my flip flops on. It really doesn't get much better than this. We have been super busy as usual. We took a trip to the brookfield zoo last Tuesday. It was so much fun. We rode into work with Donte, had breakfast with him and then headed to the zoo. The boys and I had an absolute blast. We saw so much and they even got to pet sting rays and sharks. I got some great pics of them. It still amazes me just how fast they grow. At least the zoo is still fun for them....I hope that they never out grow it.
Fathers Day weekend was great. The boys actually had some Dad time on Friday night. I went out with a girlfriend and watched SATC again and then we headed off to a small little bar where there was lots of singing and some good laughs. Saturday morning we got up early and went to the boys soccer games. Their games were at the same times so Donte went to Dannies and I went to Donnies. Dannie played well but his team lost but there was a trophy at the end for him to soothe his little bruised ego. Donnie actually played awesome. His team won by 7 and he made a goal. He also received player of the week on top of the trophy so he was beaming from ear to ear. From there we headed to the movies. We saw the Hulk and I have to admit that it was really good. To end the day we came home and grilled steaks. What a great Sat. I wish that they could all be so relaxing. Sunday morning we woke Donte with his presents and got ready for the day. I had made reservations at Zeds. A Brazilian steak house.....yummmmmmmy. We ate to our hearts content and then came home and crashed. It was a great relaxing day filled with some great family time.
Yesterday we headed to the Y to swim. I was totally exhausted after we came back. Swimming takes so much out of you. I swear I felt like I ran a marathon. This morning I woke up and worked out. It had been a week or so since I had done so, so I had to push myself a little bit harder but boy was it worth it. I feel GREAT. We ran to my friends store to get a couple of webkinz. She has a special going on where the kids can get a dollar off for every A the receive. They made out like bandits and I got some good chatting time in. That brings me to know....sitting in the front relaxing and feeling ever so grateful that I am living the life I am.

Jersey Boys
Last Tuesday was the last day of school in our district. A few of us hopped onto a limobus (with an open bar) and headed into the big city to eat a great dinner and see Jersey Boys. Can I start by saying that the limo bus is awesome!! OMG what a great idea. Everyone crammed in and off we went. We ended up at a cute little place for dinner unfortunatly it took forever to get our food so we had literally 15 min to eat it and get to the theater. We get to the theater and start to get settled....so picture this 21 adults excited and ready to see Jersey Boys, up on the balcony...one of which is petrified of heights....when all of a sudden, the rudest usher in the world starts barking orders. Stating that we better be in the seats that are on the stubs....ok no shit sherlock theres 21 of us who cares if I sit in the left seat and Donte takes the right...she really didnt need to work with the public.....enough said. Any way we finally got settled in and I loved it. It was a great musical and it was the perfect way to end the school year.

SATC......and more
On April 30th I woke up and was sooooo excited because I thought that the premiere of Sex and The City would be that night....well obviously my bubble burst and I realized that I was a whole month early. When Friday night rolled around I hurried up and got my hiney to the theater....What a FABULOUS movie. OMG I wont post specifics but lets just say that it did not disappoint. If you were a fan of the HBO series or even if your not...get out there and see it....you will love it.
Here's a coupe of pics...man they are growing up...

We officially have 2 days of school left...woooohoooo. What ever will I do for 3 months of not having to use an alarm clock..... :0) SMILE :0). It is finally warming up here a bit. I think it it 81 here today...not the June that we are used to but we will take anything in the 70's and up. We went to a graduation party next door yesterday that was a blast. Amy and Reed have two foreign exchange students and they really are sweet girls. They graduated from PSHS and will be going back to their homes in a few weeks. We had a great night of friends, food and laughter.
My allergies have flared up so I stayed in for the rest of the weekend. I am finally starting to feel a little better. I tell you with it being cold for so long my body is mucho confused!!!
My Mom and Dad rescued the cutest little puppy last week his name is Winston. He looks a lot like Buster did and I know with my parents love he will flourish. He has gained 4 ounces in less than a week...not bad for a puppy that weighed less than 5 pounds. He is now up to 5.4 pounds...can I just say that he is going to be the most spoiled puppy in the world. Here's a pic of the little muffin.

Time....Time....Time
Wow it's been almost a month since I have blogged and it has been crazier than ever. I swear just when I think I am going to get some down time.....BAM.....more stuff gets piled on my plate.
Let's see....where do I start. It is finally getting warm here...Can you believe it? It's the end of May and we finally have a nice weekend. I don't think that I will ever get used to the weather here. I was still having to wear a sweater to work last week. Usually the sweaters are pushed to the back of the closet by now....gleefully gathering dust. Speaking of dust I started to go through my closet yesterday and FINALLY finished today. I have 4 1/2 bags of clothes to get rid of. It does feel good to have to get rid of clothes because they are too big now. Donte says that we should have a yard sale. I swear that man loves to have a yard sale. I don't much care as long as they are gone....outta my room....outta the house. We also cleaned out the garage yesterday. It only took about an hour. We just don't have much in there anyway. But we had to get the sand swept out from the winter. I swear they must use a ton of salt and sand here because I could have filled a little sandbox with what I took out of the garage.
Work is the same old stuff just a different day no news on that front. I really will miss it when school gets out on the 3rd but hey I am sure that I will find tons to do during the summer. Cleaning out the basement will be #1 on my list. I still have a few boxes that haven't been unpacked.....I HATE unpacking. I just read Angies blog and she has 4 boys, did the move without her hubby and has everything unpacked and in it's place......YOUR MY HERO ANGIE.....wanna come lend a hand?
As for the recruiting business......it's going. Donte is doing well but I think both he and I are ready to get back to a post. I miss my girlfriends....true girlfriends, ones that have a common thread with. It's hard to listen to the "My husband has to go to Wisconsin for the weekend...what am I going to do without him" OMG really I am the wrong one to preach to. I have no sympathy for a wife that (GASP) has to find someway to get through 48 hours without her husband when I know people that are just starting a year long deployment that have newborns or pregnant wives that aren't complaining but sucking it up and driving on. I have yet to forge the bonds that have become a life line in the past here. I guess I just don't have that much in common with the ladies around here. Don't get me wrong I have met a handful of wonderful people that I say hello to and speak with on occasion....but it's not the same. The other recruiters are mostly single or live in a completely different town. I guess what it all boils down to is just having genuine people around to share your thoughts with. siiiiiigh whats a girl to do.....hmmmmmmmm.......IM GONNA SUCK IT UP AND DRIVE ON......only 2 more years to go.
The boys are happier than ever to get summer started. I swear they have more energy that any children I have ever come across. Soccer is going great. They both scored goals last week and were happier than ever. They are both still doing great in school and I have to give credit to their teachers. Both teachers are phenomenal. I wish that they could loop with them next year. You know you have the teachers that you remember for a life time....well I am sure that these two will stick with my boys forever. I have been working on their end of year gifts but the truth is that I can never get them anything to adequately thank them for everything that they have done for the boys this year.
My parents are back in GA and are getting settled. It's great to have them back.......even if we are a 14 1/2 hour drive away. I am just glad that they are home on US soil.
Adam and Chrissy are preggo YEAH!!!!!! I couldn't be happier for them. I can't wait to meet my new Niece or Nephew. I have already started buying some baby stuff.....the stuff they have for babies these days is so darn cute.
We also took the boys to the drive in this weekend. They had a double feature the new Indiana Jones and Iron Man were playing. Unfortunately it was cold. We were prepared though we took our mink blankets and sweaters. We ended up turning the seats around in the van and cozying up in there. The boys thought that it was the coolest thing. We hit up Zeds yesterday too. The Brazilian steak house. The boys had never been and we were going to go on Mothers Day weekend but we knew it would be super crowded. Let's just say that all four of us were stuffed. Daniel ate more than I had ever seen him eat. Donnie was pacing himself but ate quite a bit as well.
As for the last few hours of our three day weekend....as soon as Donte gets home we will BBQ and then gear up for the last 6 days of school.
HAPPY SUMMER EVERYONE.

It's been a long time
It’s been awhile I know. So much has happened since I have last posted. My Grandfather passed away on St. Patrick’s Day. It wasn’t unexpected but how do you really prepare for it. He had a good, long life. He was a phenomenal Grandfather and will be greatly missed by all of us. Luckily the boys and I had flown to Pennsylvania a few weekends before and we had the chance to visit with him. All I can say is that he is with us all the time now and I thank God that he is not suffering anymore.
We left Chicago on Thursday, March 20th, to go to PA. It took us 11 hours…the drive actually wasn’t that bad. Donte and I shared the driving and the boys were plenty busy with their games in the back. Can I say I am so happy that they are older and I don’t have to worry about diaper bags and formula? My Granny, Mom, Aunt Lorraine, and Uncle Maurice were already there and I was so glad to be with all of them. My Dad, Brother, and Chrissy arrived later that night. And my Uncle Barry arrived the next day. We were all together and I was so glad that we were. The service was nice and I was glad that I was able to be there to say goodbye. We even drove by the house that my grandparents used to live in when I was a kid. It’s so funny how through the years everything looks smaller than you remember. We stayed and spent Easter morning there with everyone. My parents, Brother, Chrissy, and us got on the road around 1100 to drive down to GA. We made a pit stop in Washington D.C. Donte was named after his Uncle that was killed in Vietnam and Donnie is as well, so my brother thought that it would be cool for Donnie to do the rubbing of his name on the Vietnam Memorial Wall. I can’t even begin to put into words how special it was. We also walked up to the Lincoln Memorial and of course got some great pictures of the Washington monument and the Mall. We also did a quick drive through tour of the White House and some other great places. Have I mentioned before that I absolutely love the city…..sigh. We reached GA at some ungodly hour in the morning and were totally exhausted. We had so much fun hanging out with my parents, Adam, and Chrissy. My Parents are renovating their house so we pulled in and helped with the painting and Donte and I were able to surprise them with a new dishwasher and stove. It’s very hard to surprise them a they tend to know everything….but we did it and it was a great moment. We took a day trip into Orlando and enjoyed a day at Sea World. It was so nice to walk around in capris and have the heat just shining down on you. Of course we had to go Go-Cart racing and to the mall to get some Pralines from Savannah Sweets……YUMMY!!! Downtown was a must as well. We ended up going to this great Moroccan place. The inside looked like the inside of a Genie bottle. We gathered in around the tables that were close to the ground as were the chairs. The food was amazing and they had belly dancers…..so yes Daniel had to get up and dance with them…..and Donnie had to put the tips in their skirts…..hmmmmmm can we say they are starting really early. I swear Daniel got up and danced every single time that they allowed him to. Oh to have boys. We left on the 30th at 330 in the morning and made it home by 530 PM. We came back to yucky, rainy weather and of course its cold as ever. They say that we are supposed to hit the 60’s this weekend….lets just say I am not holding my breath!!
The boys and I went straight back to school the next day. Donte had a couple of days off so he got the pleasures of starting the laundry and getting everything unpacked. I had a girl’s night out on Wednesday. We went to a scrap-booking store and made Explosion Boxes. I will post some pictures of spring break and the explosion box as soon as I get a chance.

VENT
I have come to realize that non-military people are just plain different. I really miss living close to a base right now. I guess I am just having a bit of a pity party for myself. I am feeling like a fish out of water I have lived here for almost a year and have met some nice people but none that compare to my “spouse” counterparts. I tell you I really miss everyone and there is something to be said about civilians who live in a military community. I love Donte recruiting because he does come home every night but why oh why can’t he recruit closer to a base. Where I can go to the gym and see others that are going through what I am going through versus a mom that has 5 kids is 24 and is complaining because the nanny made the formula 2 degrees warmer than it should have been…..my response is are you serious???? Try being the Mom that never sees her husband and is juggling just as many kids without a nanny and doesn’t complain because she is blessed to have what she has and is grateful for the chance to have a life like she has. Now I am not saying everyone around here is walking around with their heads up their hineys…….but there are quite a few. OK I’m done….gonna put a smile back on my face and push on :0)

O Days Left
I got my surprise. I honestly thought that it was going to be the new Kodak Printer that I had been eyeing since November. It came out in March so I though oooooh how sweet of Donte to remember. As you all know I have been sick for the past two weeks battling what I call the CRUD!! Saturday after the boys’ game we came home and I went into veg out mode. The boys went next door to Americas to play with Alyssa and I took a nice warm bath, put my PJ’s on, and settled into a little bit of scrap booking. Earlier that day I received Flowers, a Teddy Bear, and some Candy….ooooh I love it but I couldn’t get a hold of Donte to say thank you. I had received a text saying that he was going to be super busy all day and would call around 830 that night. The boys ran back over to the house to get a game to play and then ran back over to Americas. Then the front door open and I thought it was the boys coming back to get another game………IT WAS DONTE. He graduated early and was home for good…..OMG can I just say that I was in complete shock….partly because it takes a lot to surprise me….at the same time the back door opens and in run Donnie and Dannie. They had seen him pull in and before my brain could register anything they were in his arms. Can I just say that, that was the best surprise ever!! It feels so good to have him home. As for the crud I went to the doctor on Monday and he said that I have a “Super Bacterial Infection”. Ummmmm OK what’s that (those are my exact words) to make a long story short I have many different bugs that are all attacking my system….ohhh the joys of working in an elementary school. But I am taking my meds and feel so much better….I am sure that having Donte home is a huge part of feeling better too. I am going private on Monday so get me your e-mails :0)

UUUUUGGGGGGH
so I am still battling the crud. I can at least breathe today.....amazing I tell you. The boys both had a sleep over yesterday so I took full advantage and slept! I woke up this morning with the sun shining into my bedroom. After all the gloomy, snowy days it is a welcome change. Our high will be in the 40's tomorrow....I hate to admit it but that's warm here. Anything over 0 is warm here. The dogs went out and played this morning.....they are southerners too and have been couped up with all the snow. After the boys get back I will be off to SAMS and Caputos to get some grub. I hate to admit but I haven't been grocery shopping in over a month....well I've picked up milk and stuff but no real food in a while. Lets hope that the meds keep me breathing until I get back!

3 Surprises and a Nasty Bug
Surprise one started out with the boys and I rushing to the airport in Chicago. Now if you know my family you know that we travel A LOT...Planes used to excite the kids when they were little now its just a pain to them. The only people in my family that new about the surprise were Donte, my Dad, My Granny and my Uncle Maurice.....not even the boys new. They thought that we were going to the "city" for a long weekend. We boarded the plane and they soon figured out that we were going to fly to Baltimore. I must have heard "What's in Baltimore?" 100 times. I just kept saying "wait and see". When the plane landed they were about to explode. I looked at them calmly and said "Here's your surprise.....I flew you to Baltimore and now we are going to fly back to Chicago." The looks on their faces was priceless. Their little lips were saying "oooh thanks Mom" and their eyes were saying "are you kidding!" We deboarded and walked into the baggage claim. They were scanning the airport like FBI agents. Looking for a familiar face. They were looking so hard in the wrong direction that my Dad literally walked by them and stood behind them. I had them turn around and they jumped on Grandpa. They were so very happy to see him and Uncle Maurice. We then had to drive to Pennsylvania. A little after midnight we pulled up at my uncles house and snuck in through the garage. Mom and Granny were in the downstairs living room watching TV. The boys walked right up to her and she busted out in the biggest smile and there were kisses and hugs all around. We spent a great weekend there with our family and of course as all good times go it went by so very fast. The trip home was a bit bumpy because Chicago was hit by a winter storm....don't get me started. When we arrived home I felt a little icky but thought that it was just a little scratchiness of the throat....well lets just say I woke up this morning after a night of being totally sick...the boys and I all were up all night. I have been pumping us full of Robitussin and Tylenol and hopefully tomorrow we can get back to work and school. So theres two of the surprises. One for the boys one for Grandma. The third one is up to Donte so theres no telling when that will come to light. As for this Nasty Bug.....I can't wait to get rid of it!!!!

Surprise.....Surprise?
Well my husband is getting me back for making you all wait for my surprise. He told me that he got me a surprise...ooooooooh I love it......What is it? I ask. He replies with you will have to wait a couple of weeks until it comes in.......huh......what.......how dare he do that to me......make me wait......ugggg I can't stand it!!! I DONT LIKE TO WAIT!!! Now I know that I am making all of you wait....but that’s different. My friends are all very calm and collected....I AM NOT!!!! Ugggg I want to know. I must have asked him a million times what it was but he won’t tell me. He is not budging one inch. It's driving me completely nuts.
On to my surprise......you will all know in roughly a week. I'm busting at the seams and haven't really talked to anyone about it so it's driving me completely nuts too.
As for this weekend man it's been a crazy one. Friday night the boys had two friends spend the night. I got to bed pretty late and the boys were all up at the crack of dawn. The boys had a Soccer game and directly after that we had to go and get fitted for football helmets, pads, and all that good stuff. They start early here. We had to register early, and when I say early I mean early they don’t start practice until July. We ran and got something to eat after and then went directly to Jacobs birthday party. That was a blast the kids had a really good time and then it was off to L’s Pampered Chef party. I left the boys with Brian and the boys and Jenn went with me. After that it was a quick stop by Target and Starbucks….YUMMY YUMMY Raspberry Mocha with an extra shot of raspberry and extra whipped cream. Then it was back to Jenns. The boys and I got home around 9:30 – 10:00. Needless to say that it was a very long day and I really wanted to sleep in this morning but Mr. Murphy woke me up bright and early.
The weather man had said that we were in for 10 inched of snow today but it actually warmed up to 40 today. Almost all the snow is melted and there are floods all over the place. Our pond is overflowing and we have one loud duck that made his way back. The boys and I ran all of our errands today and are planning on a very lazy day tomorrow……..well I have to do the laundry but other than that a very lazy relaxing day.

78 Days to go
Wow we are in the 70's and counting down. Not much has been going on here. Just the everyday happenings. I did have a girls night out last Friday. I saw 27 dresses....I loved it. It was such a chic flick but hey I was so happy to see something that wasn't animated and didnt have super heros. The snow is still coming down hard and the days are pretty dreary. I miss the sunshine so much......I cant wait for spring time to come around!!!

The Sun and The Wind
Do you remember that story? The one where the wind blows and blows trying to make the poor man take his coat off. The sun and the wind have a competition to see who can make the man take his coat off first. The wind starts to blow, getting stronger and stronger and this makes the man hold on to his coat and snuggle deeper into it. The sun smiles and starts to beam and the temp gets warmer and warmer and the man with a smile on his face takes his coat off......well here the sun and wind are having the same competition but with it being -4 the darn wind is winning. I for one am ready for the sun to be the winner. UUGGGGGGGG
For Yvonne........
.......who is so much like me when it comes to surprises. 16 days lady you will know in 16 days. I'm busting at the seems myself.

Survivor
OMG I didn't realize that it was starting tonight. WOOOOOOHOOOOOO with the writers’ strike and TV pretty much disappointing me lately I am beside myself. I certainly hope it's all it looks like it will be. It is the little things in life. On to another note I have a huge secret....NO I AM NOT PREGGO, NOT POSSIBLE.......but you will have to wait a couple of weeks. I don't know how I'm I am going to keep this secret but I gotta. I'm zipping my lips for now. OK I will give you a hint.....I had to take a day off of work. How’s that for a hint.

85 Days
Boy oh boy what a day. For some reason today has just been busy. Work was great and we had some good laughs today but with the gym being a polling place it seemed really busy. Even though we were busy it was eerily calm. We are bracing for another storm tonight.....9 inches of snow was the last that I heard....sigh.... The boys are hoping for a snow day, I would be OK either way. I just really dont want to make up the days at the end of the year. Besides if we get a snow day I'd rather have a Friday or a Monday. Nothing like getting a nice long weekend. The boys are completely knocked out, since it is raining right now it's like they were lulled to sleep. They look so utterly content. I guess I better get to bed too....something tells me I am going to be waking up early tomorrow to do some shoveling...but I wonder with the rain first it's going to be a sheet of ice in the morning. Whats a girl to do?
Monday, February 04, 2008
What can I say but the weather here SUCKS. I have shoveled more snow since Donte left than I ever have in my whole entire life.....and what do I get for this.....the stupid street sweeper man that sends all the slush, dirt, and snow in a huge plume right back onto my driveway. To add salt to my wound the road is still a mess of caked on frozen ice and compacted snow!!! I basically iceskated to work in my car this morning. JR called the street people this morning from school and they told her well there was a lot of snow....ummmmmmm NO SHIT!!!! I am really fuming. Do you know how hard it is to shovel snow that has been rained on and refrozen into a lovely slushy mess? UUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGG We are under a severe thunderstorm watch for tonight and are due to get 6 inches tomorrow night......how I miss the south. Donte is wearing shorts and complaing that his room is warm because he has the windows open. If I click my heals together 3 times do you think it will get me there?

87 Days
Well the boys and I are hanging out watching the Gameplan. I have to admit that it's a cute movie. I am getting ready to warm up the B-dubs and get ready for kick off. Daniel is busting at the seems. Both boys got plain T-Shirts and made their own Patriots shirts. Oh to be the lone women in a house full of men. I just hope that the commercials are well worth the hours of watching sweaty men run up and down the field. Here are some recent pictures.

3 post in one day
I know it's a lot but had to post this. The boys and I are sitting in the livingroom and I'm tired so I say "lets go up" Daniel responds with "I'm not tired" and Donnie replies with "thats because your young" OMG HAHAHAHAHAHA I could have passed out from laughing so hard.
So this is some of what people google that gets linked to my blog.

That brings me to the fact that I haven't been blogging about recruiting in a bit. I suppose that when Donte comes back from school I will get back to that. He is enjoying school and all the fun info that he is learning. USAREC is a million miles away. However it is very different living in a non military town with him being gone. For the most part it's the same.....just no one that really understands that I see on a day to day basis. Famous Daves dropped in to check on us and my co workers are great. My neighbors America and Reed are the greatest. They truly are the best neighbors ever. Some people try to kick you when you’re down, I can say that they are the type that bring you up and are always honest, gracious, and caring. I love them to pieces and am dreading this fall when they plan on leaving to head back to California.

Tooth Fairy
My kids are loosing teeth like there is no tomorrow. Daniel started off the streak a couple of weeks ago and Donte was soon to follow. I think he lost it either the day after or the 2nd day after Daniel lost his. Then he lost another one a few days later and today at their Soccer game I see Donnie on the field blood pouring out of his mouth. My first instinct was to run out there but I stayed put.....hardest thing I have had to do in a while. Finally he makes his way to me and proudly hands me his tooth. A baby one....THANK GOD!!! Unfortunatly his Jersey is white and there was blood on the front of it. Of course today was the day that I didn't take my camera. Thank God for the Clorox Bleach Pen that got everything out. If you dont have one run out and get one they come in handy for EVERYTHING. Clothing, grout, you name it. Well with all that tooth fairy money the boys were more than ready to go shopping. They pooled their money and bought another Wii game. They have been content for hours playing it. I am so glad that God blessed me with such great boys. They listen and love each other and their parents. Of course they act up every once in awhile but for the most part they really are great. They always get complimented on their manners and I have one straight A and one A, B student. They do their sports, afterschool clubs, keep great grades, help me around the house with everything, and of course get into everything and anything that they can. I may be biased but they are also the most handsome kids out there. They have big hearts too......they still give me a kiss in front of all of their friends!!! I love those little farts and thank God for them everyday!! So heres to the tooth fairy.....I'm off to play the Wii with my little darlings.

95 Days To Go
Well We have almost made it through the first week. The first week is always the hardest so I was glad to put it behind us because the first week is always the hardest. Donnie was gloomy for the first few days but has settled into his new role as the "Man of the House". This is a job that he takes very seriously. He even tried to mop the kitchen floor yesterday when I was upstairs putting the clothes away. He knows how much I hate doing the floors and even though I had to redo them after he was out of sight it was the sweetest bit of help that I have ever had. Dannie isn't gloomy but he sure is sensitive. I suppose it effects us all differently when 1/4 of the family is gone.
I let them have a buddy spend the night last night and they took full advantage. I made a huge pot of Chicken and Dumplings and some sweet tea. The boys tore into it and spent the night drawing and playing Wii. They even camped out in the game room. At 2 AM I had to tell them to go to sleep. I fell asleep on the couch and woke up at 7. They were up 20 min later.......READY TO GO. Man I wish that I had their energy. They filled up with waffles and jumped straight into round 2 of playing the Wii. Their buddy went home and now they are vegging out in the living room, watching "We are Marshall".
I on the other hand have 1001 things that I should be doing but am blogging instead. I'm dreading 6 AM.....it comes so fast!!! This week should fly by. I swear I have full days just about everyday this week. I think I'll join the boys with the whole vegging out program!

BRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrr
With the windchill we hit -30. Now I like the Midwest and all but the cold is awful. I have shoveled snow everyday this week. Long johns and my big fuzzy boots are my new favorite things.....yes even more than Twix......and my dogs look at me like I have 1001 heads when I open the door for them to go out. I literally just let them out for them to do their business and let them back in. Murphy dives into his big blue pillow like he is parachuting from a million feet above. Then the topper, this morning Donnie, Dannie, and I walk into school......I give Donnie a kiss and go to give Dannie loving and he looks a bit weird......luckily I was carrying my big green cup......and all of a sudden I see him lurch......I automatically put the cup to his mouth as he hurls. I get him to the nurse and he washes his mouth out and she takes his temp. Perfectly normal......????? We agree that he can lay down for a couple of minutes to see what happens. He swears that he is fine and is practically begging me to go to class. I tell him that I can take him home and that he can rest. Nope he says he haaaaaas to go to class. So 15 min later with the nurses blessing he gets his backpack and trudges off to class. I settle into a day of work. Around 1100 L tells me to go down to Dannies class. I just about took off in a sprint......no easy task in heels on a slick floor. When I get there Dannies buddy says "SHHHHHHHH he's sleeping" There was my baby fast asleep at his desk. His teacher says that they were in the middle of reading and she looked back and Daniel was knocked out. I gathered all his things and got his report card. Woke him up to take him home and he says....very groggily.....I have to stay in school. Then puts his head back down. I finally got him home and found out why he was so adamant on going to school today. Report Cards. The little button wanted his report card....well I would too if I got straight A's. My neighbor America took Dannie in and he slept the rest of the afternoon. He never got sick again but he slept the rest of the day until 30 min before I got home. He ate and apple and was content in front of the TV. He ate pizza and chicken soup and drank a ton of water and went to bed. Thank goodness he feels better!!! Donnie did great on his report card too all A's and a couple of B's. I am so very proud of my to young men.

Counting Down
Well Donte left yesterday for ANOC and made it to GA last night. It was harder this time to see him go. It's funny how you get used to them being home. I think that the last two years we were at Bragg he was only home for maybe 6 months. Between Iraq and all the schools he was always gone. Now it was nice that he came home on the weekends when he was at school and the boys and I only had to count down the weekdays.......this time he's roughly 888 miles away so there will be no driving home for the weekends. Donnie always takes it really hard when Donte leaves. He is truly such a loving child and his Daddy is his world. I was just the incubater that child eats, sleeps, and walks like his Dad. Dannie looks at it as Dad will be home soon and as long as he's not in Iraq and can talk to him everyday then it's OK. I am so used to Donte being home now.....heck for the past eight months he has been home. Sure the days are long sometimes but he comes home every night and we have had so much fun as a family. It's nice not to have to rush everything into one weekend because he is leaving again. I am grateful that he is not overseas and that we will be going to visit during spring break.....it's something that has to be done and at least we are counting down now...1 day down......100 to go! It's nice that we will go down to two digits. I will take 101 days over 365 anyday!! Oh and by the way my Old Man turned 34 the day before he left :0) We were all so glad that we were able to spend it together.

ANOC
Well with becoming an Sergeant First Class comes ANOC. ANOC = Advanced Noncommissioned Officers Course. So for the first time Donte is leaving for almost four months and the boys and I will be here......in a non military surrounding. Now dont get me wrong Donte has gone many places in the past where we are home without him but we always had a huge military surrounding. The Hospital on post, an FRG (Family Readiness Group)that was always at hand, plenty of other wives and kids that were going through the exact same thing. I am sure that everything will be fine and that we will cope I'm just a little nervous I guess. It should be interesting to say the least. The boys have made great friends here and so have I. The boys are also playing indoor Soccer so we will be extremly busy with that. In fact they had their first game today. They tied 2 / 2 and had a blast. The coach is nice and the kids are great. I also met some really nice parents. The Soccer facility is nice. It sure beats having to play in the freezing rain on a fied outside. It's nice and comfy and........no stains. Thank God for astroturf!!!

Happy New Year
I still can't believe that it's 2008. Time is already flying by. We are back to school on Monday and boy is it going to be hard. The boys and I have been staying up late and sleeping in. I am going to set my alarm for tomorrow morning so we can get used to getting up and back on a normal schedule again. I am excited to go back and see everyone and knowing that the sooner we go back the sooner summer comes helps. We had a really good snow storm come through a few days back and it was so pretty outside. There s just something about everything glistening that makes it magical even when you are in your 30's. The dogs of course have another perspective on it.....they like to eat the snow......that equals letting them out every 5 seconds. Whats a girl to do?
The boys had a sleepover night before last and they requested hot wings and pizza. The pizza was store bought but I decided to make the hot wings at home. I figured while I was at it I might as well make plenty and few some for later nights. I was making hot wings for three hours......but on the plus side I have three huge baggies of hot wings in the freezer. Anyway the kids tore into the 4th bag and needless to say those are all history. In fact I did a lot of cooking over the holidays and was able to make extra of just about everything to freeze for a later date. Thank goodness because I have those lazy days that I just don't want to cook so I can just defrost and serve it up. I am supposed to make some Tilapia tonight but I am having trouble getting motivated.....speaking of fish......We are watching Happy Feet for the 50 millionth time. That movie just doesn't get old. It has to be one of the cutest movies ever. Even though the boys are getting older they still love to watch it.
Well I better get off my hiney and get to cooking......oh the joys :0)
